Capuchin Franciscan Father George Maddock will be the guest speaker at the June 13 Holy Spirit Gathering at Holy Trinity Church sponsored by the Hawaii Catholic Charismatic Renewal Service. The event begins with praise and worship at 7 p.m. Father Maddock’s talk is entitled “Grounded in the Spirit.”

Father Maddock, 71, has been a Capuchin priest for 44 years. He has served in Nicaragua, Guam and Hawaii. On Guam he was a Catholic high school teacher, a seminary rector and principal and was twice elected superior of the Guam friars.

He was the first of two Capuchins to come to Hawaii, serving as a pastor in parishes in Aiea and Ewa Beach. He is now the vocation director and postulant director for the Capuchins on Guam and in Hawaii.
