Federal prison volunteer of the year

The Honolulu Federal Detention Center presented Betty Jean Schreiner, center, a parishioner of St. Pius X Church in Manoa, the Volunteer of the Year Award, April 30, at its annual appreciation dinner. “BJ” and some 40 other volunteers, conduct Communion services at the detention center each Sunday. Schreiner was cited for her dedication and contributions to the center.
