Members of the Young Ladies Institute and their visiting grand president paid a social visit to vicar for clergy, Father Khanh Hoang, on May 27, at the downtown Chancery building. From left, Betty Akeo, Judy Giacobello, LaVerne Lei Chow, Father Hoang, grand president DeMova Barrett, Linda Carvalho and Cathe Wong. The group discussed the Diocese of Honolulu’s seminarians, whom YLI have supported in the past, and this year’s beneficiary of their fundraising efforts, Catholic Charities Hawaii. The Young Ladies Institute is an organization of Catholic women in Hawaii, California, Washington and Oregon.
