(No head or members have been chosen.)

The number of people Bishop Larry Silva has picked to guide his diocesan strategic plan into action has grown to 55, with more to follow.

The bishop has named the members for four out of the six groups that will address the six key parts of his plan, officially called the “Diocesan Road Map for Pastoral Programs and Facility Needs: 2008-2013.”

These groups are subcommittees of the Implementation Commission, the main 18-member unit chosen to navigate the diocese through the Road Map.

The groups, named for the six divisions of the strategic plan, are:

  •    Ad Hoc Task Force for Leadership Development of Clergy, Lay Staff and Volunteers (eight members)
  •    Ad Hoc Task Force for Youth and Young Adults (14 members)
  •    Coordinating Task Force for Faith Formation (10 members)
  •    Coordinating Task Force for Affordable Housing (A chairman, co-chairwoman and co-chairman have been picked, but additional members have yet to be chosen.)
  •    Coordinating Task Force for Repair and Maintenance of Church and School Facilities (eight members)
  •    Diocesan Land Asset Management and Acquisition Committee (The original chairman, Thomas Papandrew, died after being appointed. Neither his replacement, nor the group’s members have been chosen.)

The Implementation Committee is composed of the head of each subcommittee plus 12 at large members.
