Kahala Nui donates $15,000 to Catholic Charities Hawaii

Kahala Nui, the retirement community next door to Star of the Sea Church in Waialae-Kahala, gave $15,000 to Catholic Charities Hawaii’s Housing Assistance Program, which helps seniors maintain their independence in the community for as long as safely possible.

“We are honored to accept Kahala Nui’s contributions,” said Catholic Charities president and CEO Jerry Rauckhorst in a Jan. 25 news release. “With their support, this money will ensure needy seniors are offered affordable housing solutions.”

Catholic Charities’ Housing Assistance Program helps more than 400 elderly people, 60 and over, find affordable and supportive housing and work through the challenges of aging.

“Donating to Catholic Charities Hawaii was a perfect fit for us,” said Kahala Nui CEO Pat Duarte. “Their services touch our entire community, and we’re very happy to support their outreach efforts.”
