  • Bishop Silva is pleased to announce the following Officers of the Deacon Council: Deacon Thomas Contrades (Chairperson), Deacon Billy Whitfield (Co-Chairperson), Deacon Modesto Cordero (Secretary) and Cora Constantino (Treasurer), effective July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2012.
  • Bishop Silva announces the promulgation of new Norms for Receiving Gifts by the Roman Catholic Church in the State of Hawaii, effective July 22, 2010.
  • The diocesan offices will be closed on Friday, August 20 in observance of Admissions Day.

Appointments

  • Bishop Silva has appointed Father William Kunisch as Director of the Office of Worship of the Diocese of Honolulu, effective July 1, 2010.
  •  Bishop Silva has appointed Elizabeth Freitas as Chairperson of the Diocesan Pastoral Council (DPC), effective July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011.
